1 Reviews of the Baltoro 300

By: Tci872  Reason: I own(ed) one  Made in: 2007   Rating:

We bought this tent in 2008 as we wanted to tour Scotland and required a more robust unit. I have to say it hasn't yet been tested to its full capacity but so far the signs are excellent. The inner first set up is easy and the flex poles glide effortlessly. You need to remember to clip all the anchor points before the fly sheet goes on. The tensioners are excellent and found it easy to peg and tension the inner at the 4 corner anchors before the fly, then adjust. The fly poles have more adjustment points than you can shake a peg at and the inner is enormous as is the porch area which is big enough to sit in and watch the world go by. The doors are flexible in their opening pattern and offer protection as well as ventilation. The Baltoro is as strong as an ox. As I say, we haven't tested it in really high winds but I would have no problem taking it to very remote areas in very bad weather. This tent has extended our camping season by at least 3 months, so for room, protection and strength I would thoroughly recommend it. And the stuff bags work. The weight may be too much for back packing but I think they offer a 2 berth.
